Three out of four Belgian teams in final phase on EK snooker
At the European championship snooker for women and masters in the Albanian Shéngjin. Three out of four Belgian Snooker teams have placed themselves on the Wednesday for the final phase. Wendy Jans and Cathy Dehaene defeated Russia 3 with 5-0 in their final group match. Stood in the quarterfinals as undefeated series. Inge Vermeulen and Iris Moyens, were eliminated after a 4-1 defeat against France.
At the masters, Rene Hemelsoet and Johny Moermans with 3-2 were just slightly better than the Swiss. Also Belgium 2, with Alain Vandersteen and Tom De Wit, placed themselves for the eighth finals, and despite a 3-2 defeat against Iceland.
Individually won title defender Jans her second group match with 2-0 of Belarussian Yana Shut. With one more game to play, she is already sure of her place on the main table. Inge Vermeulen is on it. After losing in the last group match, with 2-0 of Russian Svetlana Kozyreva and only one victory, she is eliminated.
Moermans is sure of his place on the main table at the masters. In his last group match, he lost 3-2 from Englishman Matthew Ford, but with two wins from three games he continues.
